How do I register for classes?

Please print a registration form and send it in with your payment for the class(es) your would like to attend. If you would prefer to pay by VISA or MasterCard, send a $30 deposit per class and pay the balance using your credit card the first day of class. Or you can register online securely using a credit card.

How can I make up missed classes?

You can make up a missed class any time during the same series of classes. Some students do a make-up ahead of time when they know they will miss an upcoming class.

How does the 6 class drop-in card work?

You may purchase a card that allows you to take 6 drop-in classes. The card expires at the end of the series in which it was purchased. Drop ins are subject to availability.

What should I wear to class?

Please dress modestly for yoga class wearing either shorts and a tee shirt, sweats or tights. Make sure your clothing is comfortable and allows for easy movement. Please avoid baggy clothing. Yoga is practiced barefoot.

Can I bring my children to class?

Students 15 years and older are welcome to take classes.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

All yoga props are provided for students including mats, bolsters, blankets, blocks and straps. There is no rental fee for use of the props. If you have your own mat you are welcome to bring it or purchase a new one in our retail shop.

If I sign up for a series, do I have to take the same class every time?

You are welcome to try out as many different classes as you like. However, it is generally better to take one class consistently than to move from one class to another.

What should I eat before yoga class?

Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. If your dietary needs require otherwise, eat lightly no sooner than 2 hours before class.

What can I expect in a typical yoga class.

In each class we practice sitting quietly to develop mental calmness, various yoga asanas (postures) to develop strength and flexibility as well as deep relaxation to release stress. Each class will be different and may focus more on specific areas of the body or on breathing in a certain way.

What are the benefits of regular yoga practice?

Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years because its benefits are numerous. Current research is finding that yoga benefits a number of physical disorders. But even if your are perfectly healthy yoga offers incredible benefits. Yoga works out the kinks and tension that accumulates from active busy lives so you will feel better physically. Yoga helps develop mental focus and clarity so you will feel more centered. Most importantly yoga gives you an overall sense of well being that continues to deepen over time.
