Terri O'Connor, RYT, co-owner of Plum Tree Yoga, teaches Hatha, Svaroopa and Prenatal yoga. Teaching yoga since 1999, Terri has explored various yoga styles for the past 20 years and has studied with many recognized teachers. With a background in dance, Terri guides her students with a sense of ease and fluidity and is grateful to share the endless benefits that yoga offers.

Cayla Allen, RYT, Embodyment™ Yoga Therapist. She received her Master of Arts degree in Theatre and Dance from the University at Buffalo, where she was graduate assistant for Mind-Body-Awareness.  For over 20 years she has been teaching classes facilitating connection of body-mind-spirit-emotion, stretch and strength, and relaxation.  

Susan Wells is a certified teacher whose avocation and love is teaching yoga and watching others blossom with the fruits of their practice. After a serious illness during her 20's, yoga became for her a compelling blend of beauty, spirit, and health. She has studied with a number of recognized teachers and shares her joy in asana and meditation with her students.

Ellen Sichel, RYT is a Senior Certified Svaroopa® Yoga instructor, an Embodyment™ Yoga Therapist, a Meditation instructor and a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist. Ellen’s journey into yoga has become her soft and gentle way of coping with the challenges life has given her. From being diagnosed with lupus and suffering from TMJ and other stress related problems, Ellen discovered “strong arming” her way through life was not working any longer. After exploring different styles of yoga, Ellen found Svaroopa® Yoga and embraced its “less is more” approach. She serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Master Yoga Foundation; the home of Svaroopa yoga.  

Betsy Blount began her journey into yoga in 1971 at which time she also became a student of meditation and Eastern philosophy. A teacher of body, mind and spirit for the past 20 years (with an emphasis on emotional release work and meditation). Betsy has the gift of inspiration and teaches from the heart. She brings a relaxed atmosphere of warmth, coziness and fun to her classes. While her flowing style can be challenging and energizing, her hands on approach is supportive and soothing.

Jerry Nelms classes, based upon over 30 year’s of experience with hatha yoga and meditation, are a blend of breath awareness with asana flow, humor with yoga philosophy, and a deep appreciation of each student’s contribution to the class. Inspired primarily by the grace of the Siddha Yoga tradition since 1974, Jerry’s yoga training has come from a variety of sources. Workshops with Tias Little and John Friend have kept Jerry’s personal practice fresh and reinvigorated. Jerry brings personal insights from years of practice into his classes.

Shane Orfas has been teaching Tai Chi and Qi-gong at St. Joseph's Hospital for 2 1/2 years. Shane's training is with Master Yun Xiang Tseng (Chen) in 18 movements Tai Chi Qi-gong. Shane is also a graduate of The Whitewinds Institute of professional energy medicine led by Dr. Fernan Poulin.

Marlysa Sullivan MPT, RYT is a physical therapist and yoga instructor. She is a director in the Pranakriya 500 hour yoga teacher certification where she leads courses in advanced anatomy and therapeutic yoga. Her experience with yoga has shown her how building awareness and knowledge of the body and mind can empower a person in their own healing process. Her classes combine therapeutic principles of safe movement with breathing, meditation and challenging postures. Introspection, self-awareness and transformation are the keys to her practice and what she hopes to pass on to her students.

Marcella Chase has been practicing yoga since 2001. She moved from Milan, Italy to Santa Monica and started taking classes from acclaimed and inspirational teachers as Shiva Rea, Max Storm, Saul David Raye. Her classes are a combination of her personal practice and life experiences. She enjoys helping students find their own grace and rebuild their strong foundations, bringing awareness into this precious present moment with the power of the Breath.

Sally Moore is a Licensed Massage Therapist with 20 years experience, who also is qualified in the fields of CranioSacral Therapy, Lymph Drainage Therapy, Myofascial Release, Reiki, Reflexology, and Healing Touch. For 12 years, she has been teaching Tai Chi Chuan (Yang long from), a slow moving Chinese discipline. Her class is excellent for all ages. It calms the mind, releases tension, improves circulation and creates balance.

 

Andrea Habern found yoga in college while studying to be an actor. After almost a decade of personal practice, Andrea became certified as a yoga teacher. She has an articulate way of teaching the postures and a commanding presence. Her classes are both fun and challenging. She inspires her students to go further and deeper in their own practice. Yoga gives her a sense of peace unlike anything else. “The mat is where we shed our armor and allow our authentic self to emerge.”
